WOW i made the front page
I had a phone interview concerning my story SHE HAD HIS HEART which appeared in the latest release of Chicken Soup for the Soul: Love Stories out just in time for Valentines Day.
Uplifting stories told by real people about real people. I was honored to be a part of it, and with another possible story being set for publication sometime in April. I was also honored to have my local newspaper do a story on it, and on me.
You can imagine my surprise when Jake came running in the house, DH not far behind carrying the newspaper in hand and the shouts began. "You made the front page!"
"What?" Instantly I jumped up and grabbed the Times.
Yep there it was. I wasn't dreaming. I wasn't seeing things. Well I was seeing things. I was seeing a picture taken of me that is probably the best picture, unique in design and creativity by Times photographer Kevin Hill, who kept me perched on my staircase while he took several (TONS AND TONS) of shots hanging above me, keeping me smiling until I thought my face was going to crack and fall off.
You were right Kevin. You are genius. The shot worked out perfect.
Two Chicken Soup books in my hand, I am staring above, almost as though into the unknown of what the glorious future will hold for me now that this has happened. How could I not--be excited?
The article written about me was flattering, lovely with words, filled with the emotion that drove me to write the story in the first place and send it in to chicken soup.
Thank you Christina for taking the time to report about this mother, blogger, story-teller and soon (hopefully) to be published romance author. You captured the reason behind what I love the most about writing.
To be able to share with others.
Check out the story here and here and any comments you might have I would love to hear them.
You know there is only thing better than finding out I made the front page today, seeing my kids excitement, and DH how proud he is of me. Jake has decided to take the article to school tomorrow. I made SHOW AND TELL!
Now that's something to be proud of.
