the fat man found me
Christmas morning. The joy of hearing your kids scream at the top of their lungs: "Santa came!" at 7:30 in the morning, before your eyes have even had a chance to unfold. I think JJ came into our room at least 7 times, and most of what I heard was: "He brought me this--Look!" and each time I looked the kid was gone again, whipping his behind down the flight of stairs to where the goodies lay resting beneath the tree.
DH and I got finally dragged our sorry behinds out of bed, after a long night of putting things together. Tired and not quite caffinetted, we ventured down the stairs to find both boys eagarly diving into their gifts (some unwrapped and left by the fat man) in red. We sat down, wearing our new pj's my mother in law requested we each open the night before to enjoy, all snuggled and warm, and DH began handing out the gifts.
It's funny how long it takes us to find that perfect present. We search, store after store, only to have the kids rip them open in five seconds flat, say thank you and push onto another present we didn't buy them. The concept makes my head spin. However the joy on their faces was worth it.
THE BOYS GOT DISNEY'S CARS PS2 GAME. CARS WAS HOT ON THE LIST FOR SANTA THIS YEAR, AS BOTH BOYS WANTED NOTHING BUT THE STUFF. IT'S NICE THAT EVEN THOUGH THERE IS 8 YEARS AGE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THEM, THEY STILL SHARE --EVERYTHING.
THIS IS ME HUGGING JJ FOR THE BRASS CANDLE HOLDERS HE PICKED OUT HIMSELF TO GIVE TO ME FOR CHRISTMAS FROM HIS SCHOOL STUDENT STORE. HE SAVED HIS MONEY AND BOUGHT THEM HIMSELF. YEP I CRIED. GOD I LOVE HIM!
ME SHOWING EVERYONE THE WORLD'S SMALLEST BOX OF MANDARIN ORANGES I GOT FROM JANET (MY MOM'S) FRIEND. THEY FIT IN THE PALM OF MY HAND, SO TINY AND REALLY TASTE LIKE THE BIG ONES. TOO CUTE.
JJ OPENING HIS TRANSFORMER FROM GAMMI AND PAPA PAUL IN PRINCE GEORGE. HE ISN'T AWARE IT'S OPTIMUS PRIME, THE ONE HE WANTED.
DH SHOWING OFF HIS NASCAR FRIDGE STUFF GIVEN TO HIM BY MY AUNT. HE IS A NASCAR FREAK, MY HUBBY.
I'M SICKER THAN A DOG HERE WITH A LUNG INFECTION CHRISTMAS MORNING, SO FORGIVE THE WAY I LOOK LOL. BUT HERE I AM HOLDING UP THE BEAUTIFUL CARD JANET GAVE ME WITH EARRINGS ATTACHED TO THEM. THANKS JANET! I WILL WEAR THEM WITH LOVE.
After we opened our gifts, we all hopped in the car and drove over to mom's in our pj's for morning coffee and a surprise hello. Mom, Dad and Shayne were just up and still opening gifts when we got there. The lazy bums didn't get out of bed until 10 o'clock! Must be nice.
HERE IS MY MA OPENING HER BED IN A BAG FROM MY BROTHER. SHE IS NOT IMPRESSED I CAUGHT HER WITH HER HAIR NOT DONE... LMAO!
MY LITTLE BROTHER (BY HEHM... SIX YEARS) SHAYNE GOT A SURPRISE WHEN HE OPENED HIS GIFT FROM MY PARENTS. HE GOT A TIN OF CHILI HAHAHAH, WHICH HE HID UNDER HIS ROBE SAYING HE COULD USE IT FOR LATER. HE ALSO GOT A GIFT CARD FOR WINNERS, HIS FAVORITE STORE TO SHOP AT. WE GAVE HIM SPAWN COLLECTION FIGURINE BECAUSE HE USED TO DRAW THE COMIC BOOK CHARACTER. HE'S AN AMAZING ARTIST AND THE SWEETEST PERSON I KNOW.
DAD WAS HAPPY TO GET HIS TOOLS. HE WANTED TOOLS VERY BADLY AS HE COULD NEVER FIND ANY SCREW DRIVERS. NOW HE HAS LOTS ALL DIFFERENT SIZES. WHICH IS GOOD SINCE I CAN BORROW THEM NOW WHEN I WANT.
After breakfast we headed back home where we cleaned up and settled into getting ready for Christmas dinner at my other brothers house. He had all his kids with him. So I took a shot of the cousins together. All seven of them and this is their first pic together. Say cheeseeeeeeeeee!
I love Christmas. It's my favorite time of year. It's not about the presents. It's about being with those you love. The presents are nice though hehe. My favorite gift was given by parents. Here I am holding my new Crockpot. I hate to cook, and my mom knows this. I love food but hate to cook. I do however like the idea of throwing together beautiful stews and soups and so forth into a big pot to simmer and smell all day, ready to eat when I need at a specific time. So thank you mom and dad. I'm looking forward to using it and I can't wait to make homemade Chili. Mmmmmmmmmmmm.
Christmas at my house is fun. Thanks for allowing me to share. I hope everyone stays safe. Don't drink and drive. Love those around you. Forgive those you are angry with. Cherish the good times, and remember the bad as you can learn from them. New Years is just around the corner and will be part of my Friday's Love list: so keep an eye out.
