happy b-day ANNER
It's my best friends birthday today. She's the same age as me and (no I won't tell you) because it would be mean. I'd tell you and then I'd be mean to you for knowing. Anyhow, she's still young like me, and every time this year whenever her birthday comes around I start to think of all the reasons I love the time God has allowed me in sharing my life with her as my friend.
I missed Friday's Love List. So I'm making it up today by sharing all the things I love about my friend Anner.
I missed Friday's Love List. So I'm making it up today by sharing all the things I love about my friend Anner.
1. Never knowing from one day to next what is going to happen with her. She is my reality television and thank God because she's more fascinating then what's really on tv.
2. What type of mother she is. Her kids are awesome and that's a reflection on how caring she is in raising such amazing little people.
3. Her cake decorating skills. Okay seriously I never imagined my friend having such a talent for creating such beautiful pieces of art for birthdays, weddings, you name it she does it. And you can eat them too.
4. Her ability to make you feel good whenever she's around you.
5. Her smile which is annoyingly contagious when I don't want it to be. Makes being angry hard, but a gift in itself.
6. My childhood, teenage, adult, motherhood and marriage years and memories are all rolled up with her in them.
7. How she ages better than I do. (Okay wait I don't love that about her.) WTF
8. Her laugh. It's bubbly and gives off warm fuzzies.
9. Her strength. She is one of the strongest women I know always putting others before herself and striving to make others feel better about their life, make them feel important, loved and cherished. How could I not love that?
10. Her friendship with my husband. (Okay I know you're going whoa!!!!) She is my best friend and I love that she can joke with my hubby and they get along. It makes loving her and having her as my friend a little nicer and easier.
11. For being the sister I never had. I got stuck with two brothers (luv ya Shaynee & Joel) but I always wanted a sister to talk to, share clothes with growing up, get into trouble with (we did our fair share) and laugh with. I got just that!
12. Her skills. The way she conducts herself both personally and professionally.
13. Her willingness to admit she's not perfect, but equally her ability to point out how others are more screwed up than her so we can poke fun at them. (wink wink).
14. Finally I love her loyalty. It may not seem like much to others, but my friend is loyal. 20 years of friendship proves that, and I look forward to spending many more years with her, both of us in wheelchairs, raiding the nurses station at the home, sneaking in and out of the male ward (*snicker snicker*) running around with nothing under our gowns, substituting Alabama Slammers and Dr. Peppers for a balanced diet of nuts and grains.
15. I love that she's my friend. Life is great when you have a best friend to go commando with. So go out and get one. Just stay away from mine, she's already taken.
