Friday love list: Best things about being sick

Okay well I'm sick. And no not mentally (though that's still in question). I'm talking about a regular old fashioned, sneezing, runny nose, coughing, aching, ain't nothing gonna make my head feel better kinda of sickness.

I have a cold. Some type of mutant illness raging its ways through my body, and needless to say it sucks!

I got my flu shot, which is a good thing (I suppose) though I'm still searching for evidence as to its actual help at the moment. This is the first real cold I've had in a while which is surprising because JJ brings them home from school as though they were passing them out in class.

Now ordinarily I hate being sick. I mean I am real big baby, all whiny, don't talk to me I have the *sniffles, go away I'm achy, having a bath three times a day cause I'm cold, turning the heat up cause I'm cold, then opening the door cause I'm hot, I want to call my mommy kinda whiny. It's sad really, and I don't how DH puts up with me.

There are a few things I love about sick though. So I decided to make those things part of this Friday's love list.

Not having to get up early.

Drinking tea with honey (good even when you aren't sick).

Having my kids say (Awww mommy what can we do?).

Getting extra back rubs and foot massages.

Eating chicken noodle soup with crackers.

Getting to buy Gingerale to keep my tummy feeling better.

Ignoring the housework because I'm too tired to move.

Forgetting about the laundry (since I declare pajama day when I'm ill).

Eating Popsicles to make my throat feel better.

Buying Kleenex for my nose (special occasion when I'm sick instead of using toilet paper).

Staying inside all day and watching old movies I've seen 100 times.

Not having to change babe's dirty diapers because it makes me nauseas.

That froggy sound my voice makes (it's kinda sexy) when I'm sick.

Getting to wear my *fat pants / no make-up / not having to do my hair / and it's okay.

Butterfly kisses from my dad and hugs from mom when they come visit me. (At 34 that is still special!)

Finally having babe waddle over / cover me up and kiss me / saying I la la ma ma... (translation I love you mama).

That makes being sick worth it any day!

How about you? What sort of things don't you mind about being sick?
