dream big and go for it!
That's what one of my GF's said to me the other day on my becoming one of Harlequin's latest new authors--which is of course my goal. Not my dream. I dream of eating a large bowl of peanut butter ice cream. Having my book Buttercup's Cowboy published with Harlequin is a goal. Though it doesn't hurt to dream big and go for it, I suppose.
One of my favorite authors ALISON KENT whom I read all the time. I mean if her name is on a book, I read it because you just know it's going to be good, filled with real men and women who talk openly to one another, where the human element of emotions are displayed not only with a sense of humor but real feelings to bridge the two leads together. Plus she always makes me laugh. I don't think there is a romance book of hers that she's penned that I haven't loved.
So I do get to be like ALISON KENT? I mean that's like someone saying "I WANNA BE LIKE MIKE." I mean seriously who am I kidding. Look at where this author is right now. She is still pumping out gem after gem for Harlequin. I could only imagine what that is like, to be her, and oh what a life she must lead.
Sometimes I wonder how she got her start? How many manuscripts did she hand in? How did she feel when she found out she was about to be a published author for Harlequin?
Well watch the video below. I enjoyed it, as it really helped put things into perspective for.
It's funny, I always thought romance authors led such extraordinary lives. I never imagined them talking to themselves on tape recorders, driving beat up cars, going to normal jobs, while pumping out these amazing reads.
Thanks Alison for giving me hope that one day I might get that phone call from Harlequin and all my dreams may come true. Dream big and go for it, right?

I haven't read any of Jude Deveraux, but I have read Rebecca Paisley. You might like Harlequin Blaze books, very steamy and filled with good laughter and fun for romance novels.
Have a great day and thanks again.
